Daniel closed the laptop as soon as he heard who it was. If he'd been at home, Jack would have had to work harder to catch his attention and keep it and maybe it would go back to that way in another month or three, but for now Jack's arrival had his full attention. His appearance on the island was still a novelty that Daniel intended to savor.
"Hey, Jack. Sure." He yanked the plug over and stuck it in the back of his laptop and ducked his head down, looking under the bed for his sandals. He tossed one shoe that he was pretty sure was Patrick's on top of the bed. Or maybe it'd been Owen's. Whoever's it was, it wasn't his that was for sure.
